Mayor Divine convenes MDRRMC to assess earthquake damages, checks LGU preparedness

In light of the 7.0-magnitude quake that struck Northern Luzon, Mayor Divine Fontanilla conducted a post-earthquake meeting with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), Sangguniang Bayan, and other concerned municipal offices, July 28.

As of 8:00 AM this morning, a total of 23 houses have been reported as partially damaged:

Cabaroan- 3

Lisqueb- 1

Nagsarabaoan- 1

Raois- 1

Sayoan- 1

Meanwhile, the Municipal Agricultural Office is currently validating agricultural infrastructures. As of the moment, there are no damages reported.

On the other hand, the Municipal Engineering Office will continue its thorough inspection on public works and infrastructure throughout the municipality.

In line with the immediate heritage restoration, LGU Bacnotan, together with the United Architects of the Philippines La Union Chapter, is set to inspect the damages at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish church and the watchtower.

Mayor Divine reiterated to intensify the municipality’s preparedness for disasters, citing the emphasis on drills as an example.
